I have just acquired a little 2nd hand CNC 3018 Pro CNC/Engraving machine. Got it home, installed driver plus UGS Universal Gcode Sender and machine seems to work on all axis just fine. So now i need some hopefully freeware to generate gcode for this little machine from STL files I have created with Alibre Design. The wires that come with these steppers are pretty stiff, and I believe it's possible to have a fractured wire inside the jacket even if they appear OK on the outside. SainSmart Genmitsu 3018 PRO seems to have good online reviews. If I go to sainsmart website, I can buy the machine for around 230 eur + shipping. On the other hand, the internet is full (aliexpress, amazon, etc) of noname "3018 PRO" routers without the sainsmart logo, but they look pretty much identical to the one being sold on sainsmart.
I just got a 3018 cnc pro, total newbie, but learning, i tried the test nc code and i lowered the bit to just touching the wood with peice of paper, but when it runs program it is just short of cutting the wood, so i have to lower the bit to actually go into the wood few small steps in order for it to actually carve, ive been getting familar .

I love learning new things and being able to get in the door with CNC projects is a good step for me. 2. CNC 3018 Pro Problem With Z-Probe/Heightmap Tormach digitizing probe to find center of a small circle, but bigger than probe tip CMM Liquidation: Renishaw TesaStar Probe Head, Touch Probe, Motorized Indexable the purpose of the M8 washers are to eliminate any movement from the lead screw which passes through as the bearing and shaft collar alone is simply not strong enough to stop any movement, plus the lead screw shaft collar has socket set screws holding it on they sometimes will screw into the internal pitch of the lead screw resulting in poor alignment. hope .
