I have found the date codes stamped all over the sheet metal in my 1965 FB. All 3 pieces of metal that are welded together to form a front fender have date codes. The dash has a date code below the ash tray hole. The door posts have date codes stamped between the upper and lower hinges.
There are some parts that I feel need to be replaced, but to spend -100 on a replacement part to cut up vs. on a sheet of steel I can get 4-5 patches out of seems to not make sense. So what gauge should I be looking at for normal repairs to .

Quality, fit, finish etc is not important as I will be cutting it up and welding together. Outer skin only. No body bracing needed. Most 69-up Mustang sheetmetal has been unavailable for years, mostly from Ford scrapping the tools. And yeah, shipping the tools is theoretically possible, but cannot be done.
