Is it important to remove the hemi hat/air box when puting on your CAI. I plan on finishing my mod and i want it to turn out right the first time. Is there better performance with out it/not. You could rig on just the cone filter at the end and delete the stock air filter/box. But that wouldnt do much imho I believe the gain from a cai is more in deleting restrictive air hat and zig zag tube.

Having seen this, the only thing I would consider doing is opening the box from the bottom and gutting the inside. Then I would retro fit an eBay tube into there. Stock look with a smoother flow.
