Hi forum members, new to inventor (less than a month of using) I seem to have challenges when using sheet metal especially when it comes to welding. It's always a hit or miss. In this case, this particular folded sheet metal is not allowing me to use "groove" weld But I have the (3) flanges, 2 on the sides and a long one in the back. Then added corner seams between the long and sides to set and equal gap, but this pulls the corner style from the sheet metal defaults. With the hem at a width you have a remnant that is present, so in the sheet metal default the remnant has to be modified.Welding aluminum is not hard at all, and extremely common. Attached is an image of what I am trying to accomplish. I took what I knew of the sheet metal and applied it to a standard 3d model to see if i could convert and flat pattern.
